Interview with Dr. Park, A Modern Approach to Lower Back Pain and Chiropractic Care

People who spend long hours working at a computer often suffer from both neck and back pain.
People who spend long hours working at a computer often suffer from both neck and back pain.

Interviewer: Dr. Park, thank you for joining us. Lower back pain is something so many people struggle with. What are you seeing in your practice?

Dr. Park: It’s astonishing, but about 80% of my patients are dealing with either acute or chronic lower back pain. It’s one of the most common complaints I see. Many people brush it off as normal—something caused by aging or sitting too long—but the reality is, lower back pain can severely impact someone’s daily life. I’ve seen patients who could no longer work, sleep well, or even walk comfortably because of it.

Interviewer: People often have different expectations when visiting a chiropractor. Can you explain how your approach might differ?

Dr. Park: That’s a great question. When you meet a chiropractor, you’re not just meeting one kind of practitioner. Chiropractors practice in very different ways. Some stick to traditional spinal manipulation techniques, while others—like myself—use a more modern, medically-informed approach.

My training emphasized the importance of diagnostics and clinical reasoning. I use stethoscopes, orthopedic assessments, and modern imaging tools like X-rays or MRIs when needed. Over my 27 years in practice, I’ve come to believe in a simpler but highly effective method: help the patient feel better, and do it with clarity and care.

Interviewer: Walk us through what a typical visit looks like for someone with lower back pain.

Dr. Park: First, I make sure the patient feels comfortable and at ease. We go through a full exam so I can understand what’s really going on. Then, I take time to explain the findings in plain, easy-to-understand terms. I’ve learned that when patients truly understand their condition, they become active partners in their healing.

Importantly, I don’t just treat the symptoms—I focus on the root cause of the pain. That’s something chiropractors are very good at: identifying dysfunction in the spine, muscles, and joints that’s often overlooked. If there’s no contraindication, I usually begin treatment on the same day. If more information is needed, I may delay treatment until imaging or lab results come back.

Interviewer: What’s the one message you’d want people suffering from lower back pain to hear?

Dr. Park:Don’t ignore it. Lower back pain is your body’s way of telling you something’s wrong. It’s not just about discomfort—it can signal deeper imbalances that need attention. The earlier we address it, the faster and more effectively we can treat it. Chiropractic care, when approached with modern tools and clear communication, can offer real relief and restore people’s quality of life.

Final Thought: If you're struggling with lower back pain, don't wait until it becomes unbearable. Consider consulting a chiropractor like Dr. Park, who blends modern diagnostic insight with decades of hands-on experience and compassionate care. Relief might be closer than you think.
