Diagnosis: Knee Pain
People of all ages may suffer knee pain at some point.
The knee consists of four bones that work together to help us perform every actions such as walking, bending, lifting and climbing. As significant body weight falls on this joint, knees are particularly susceptible to injury, especially if you regularly take part in athletic activity.
Symptoms may include popping sounds, stiffness, swelling, redness, reduced range of mobility or weakness.
What causes knee pain?
Direct trauma - high force or twisting impacts from an accident or joint overuse can lead to fractures, sprains and strains
Medical conditions - osteoarthritis (from general wear and tear of the joints), gout, infection, tumours.
How can a chiropractor help?
Chiropractic treatment is a non-surgical means of relieving knee pain through regular chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractic adjustments can relieve pain and restore function and range of motion in affected areas.
During an initial consultation, our chiropractors perform a series of diagnostic tests, examining your walking gait and knee function, and taking a history assessment to determine the best course of treatment or referral to a specialist. Alongside chiropractic adjustment and physical therapy sessions, we also help you supplement your recovery through specific prescribed physical exercises and nutritional advice.
